DAGENHAM & Redbridge return to the relative comfort of league action this week after a heavy beating at the hands of Huddersfield Town during a brief but torturous FA Cup campaign.

Daggers manager John Still fielded a strong team for the trip to the Galpharm Stadium last Friday, but the team were given a glimpse of what to expect, should they achieve their goal of promotion to League One this season.

Huddersfield are riding high in the play-off positions, but Dagenham would have felt confident heading into the first round tie following an eye-catching run in League Two that has seen them move to within two points of leaders Bournemouth.

However, the game did not go according to plan, and by half-time the Daggers were 4-0 down, thanks to goals from Robbie Williams, Gary Roberts, Lee Novak and Jordan Rhodes.

Novak and Roberts grabbed their second goals in the second half, before Paul Benson added a consolation.

The team face another away day this Saturday, although they will be taking on a side 11 places below them in the league in the shape of Accrington Stanley.

While the Victoria Road side have set the world alight in front of their own fans so far this season, scoring 21 in just eight games, they have been less prolific on the road.

They have found the net just seven times on their travels in seven games, while their opponents have managed 13 strikes at their Crown Ground home.

The game could also see a debut for the Daggers’ new loan signing Adam Miller, who has arrived from Gillingham on a month’s deal.

The midfielder has fallen out of favour at Priestfield this season, although he was an ever-present last year, captaining the side on a number of occasions during a successful promotion campaign.

A creative force in midfield, the 27-year-old will provide plenty of competition for places and could feature against Stanley.
