Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade described it as "a week to forget" after his team followed up their traumatic Johnstone's Paint Trophy exit with a 1-0 home defeat to Crawley Town.
League losses against struggling Hartlepool United and Crawley have dropped the O's down to mid-table while their hopes of reaching Wembley were scuppered by Southend United on Wednesday night.
Slade said: "The last home game we were beating the top of the league team Tranmere and then we couldn't put to bed the bottom team and then we go out of the competition.
"It's a little bit like after the Lord Mayor's show today and it was just a bit disappointing really that we didn't get something from the game.
"I thought we merited something from the match even though it wasn't our best performance but it's a week to forget."
