Leyton Orient 1
Bradford City 2
(League One)
WITH a busy month ahead of them Orient could have done with a win but, unfortunately for the Londoners, Bradford left the capital with the points, writes Lauren Coates.
The visitors took the lead just four minutes into the game when Eddie Johnson smoothly scored past keeper Glyn Garner.
The O's reacted immediately with Gary Alexander, first unlucky to have a shot blocked and then seeing another effort come back off a post.
On 29 minutes Orient's efforts paid off when Bradford failed to clear Matt Lockwood's corner and Alton Thelwell produced a great half volley past keeper Donovan Ricketts.
Paul Connor then had a header cleared off the line for the hosts, before Bradford went back in front on 34 minutes, when Adam Chambers headed clearance fell for Marc Bridge-Wilkinson to shoot home from the edge of the box. The second half was disappointing for Orient as they failed to carve out a clear cut chance.
The Bantams went closest to adding to the score, with Johnson, Tommy Black and David Graham all going close.
Disappointed O's boss Martin Ling said: "The second half petered out into a performance that I wasn't very happy with.
"We didn't ask them any questions and allowed them to run the clock down without too much difficulty."
