Kevin Nolan is refusing to get carried away and insists it is just the beginning despite guiding Leyton Orient to back-to-back wins following his appointment as player-manager.
The former West Ham United captain was given a two-and-a-half year contract last week and has made the ideal start to his managerial career.
Nolan’s side won 2-0 at Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday and defeated Newport County 1-0 at Brisbane Road on Tuesday to move up to sixth in League Two.
Nolan said: “This is only the beginning and I said that to the boys. It’s only a start. It’s two nice wins but if we win on Saturday it’s even better and then we go again the week after.
“It’s about keeping our feet firmly on the ground and looking forward to what’s going to be a tough game on Saturday again.”
The 33-year-old added: “But this is only a beginning and a start. I’m only six days in. I’m a rookie and have a lot to learn.
“I’m going to go through ups and downs but at this moment I’ve really enjoyed it and am hopefully going to continue to enjoy it.”
