Marvin Ekpiteta’s performance against Stevenage was hailed as “outstanding” by Leyton Orient boss Ross Embleton.

The defender helped towards the O’s keeping their first clean sheet in over a month in the 3-0 success and made a number of key tackles in the rare moments that Stevenage threatened.

After the game, Embleton said: “I think [it was] outstanding, with Marv. He’s obviously found himself, like a lot of people, in and out of the team this year.

“In the last few weeks he’s really grabbed hold of the opportunity and I think Marv’s performances have been the same as the last three-and-a-half games, as I’ve referred to them with the boys after the game.

“We’re all improving, we all seem to have got that little bit more focus, we’ve got to grips with the level a little bit more. I don’t know all the answers but Marv’s performances have coincided with us getting better and better and with Dan Happe alongside him, they’ve really complimented each other.

“Their athleticism, their ability to defend, they’ve added an aggression to their game and they look more and more comfortable on the ball every week.”
