Leyton Orient recovered from falling a goal behind to beat Sky Bet League Two leaders Newport 2-1 in an entertaining match at Brisbane Road.
Jamie Proctor had opened the scoring for the visitors, however second half strikes from Danny Johnson and James Brophy saw a much improved Os turn the game on its head to pick up three points in front of 2,000 home supporters.
Things looked nervy for Ross Embleton's men when the Exiles were rewarded for their early positive approach and went in front on 20 minutes.
Proctor was allowed time to collect a cross from Padraig Amond before sending his left-footed drive low into the corner of the net from outside the box.
The visitors controlled the half from then on, with Aaron Lewis and Proctor going close whilst a Liam Shephard effort hit the side-netting, as the hosts looked lethargic and lacking in urgency.
But Orient upped their tempo after the interval and were on 62 minutes they made the breakthrough their improvements deserved when Danny Johnson finished a fine move by stabbing the ball home from six yards to record his 14th goal of the season in all competitions.
Buoyed by their equaliser, the Os immediately went in search of the winning strike, as their confidence and positivity began to make life difficult for the South Wales side.
Just eight minutes after netting the equaliser, Johnson caused more problems for the visitors and James Brophy pounced on a defensive lapse to put Orient ahead from 12 yards.
Despite the use of five substitutes, County were unable to cause trouble for the rejuvenated hosts in the game's closing stages and Orient held on for what could be an important win come the end of the season.
The play off spots are just above Orient, who sit seventh in the League Two table just one point behind Colchester.
