WHILE Orient striker Wayne Gray can look back with fondness at helping Brighton secure promotion to the Championship he certainly knows where his loyalties lie this weekend.

The O's head to the Withdean desperate for a win to get their play-off push back on track, and Gray - while revealing he enjoyed being part of one of Brighton's most successful periods of recent years - he would love nothing more than to gun down the Seagulls this weekend.

Reflecting on his brief loan spell with the south coast club from Wimbledon towards the end of the 2001-02 campaign, he said: "Although I wasn't at Brighton long I had a great time.

"They were pushing for promotion to the Championship at the time and Bobby Zamora suffered a little injury, so they brought me in.

"And while I only played four games I scored on my debut against Colchester and was then invited to join in their promotion celebrations when they went up.

"It was fantastic as a young player to be part of that, especially when we went to the civic reception at the town hall in front of all their fans.

"It wont stop me wanting to beat them though on Saturday, because it is a big game for us and I'm desperate to start scoring again as well."

But Gray is only too aware of how tricky it is for away teams to pick up results at Brighton's infamous Withdean Stadium.

He added: "It is never an easy place to play at as the away team, because it does feel a bit alien having a big running track surrounding the pitch.

"Obviously Brighton have got use to it over the years and their fans are much closer to the pitch than the away end is, so they can make much more of an atmosphere than the visiting supporters. But at the end of the day you have just got to get on with it, and hopefully we can go there and give a good account of ourselves on Saturday."
