I THINK it was good to have a weekend off last week because being a footballer it is always our wives, girlfriends and families who get neglected at important times of the year.

So having Valentines weekend off meant that the lads could be romantic, although it still needed me to play cupid for Mr Purser as I got him out of jail by booking his restaurant table for him.

I know my column has fast become the let's have a dig at poor old David Hunt off in recent weeks and I think he really deserves a mention again.

To confirm his Scrooge-like reputation of being tight with money came when he refused to travel to Purse's for a Play Station challenge night despite being offered half his petrol money!

To top it all last week I was flicking through the TV channels and on this cheesy programme called Your Face or Mine on Channel Four, our very own Mr Hunt made an appearance.

He was on there as this girl's ex-boyfriend and while unfortunately it was only me and Ciaran Toner who saw his starring appearance, he has still picked up another nickname of Dee, which the girls kept calling him on the show.

Back to the games this week it will certainly be interesting to see what reaction Paul Brush gets when he comes here with Southend , particularly for a game that always means so much to the supporters.

We have also got Swansea on Tuesday night which will give us a chance to catch up with Kevin Nugent and Ezy Iriekpen.

Both these matches are very big games for us and I am really disappointed that I won't be playing in either of them after suffering a slight setback with my injury that is likely to keep me out for a further week.
