ORIENT boss Geraint Williams was left worried by a lack of confidence among his players after a 4-0 pasting in Yorkshire, at the weekend.

Huddersfield Town romped to a comfortable 4-0 win after they had taken the lead on the stroke of half-time at the Galpharm stadium.

The result leaves the O’s 17th in League One.

Afterwards Williams said: “We've really got to believe in ourselves when we come to big grounds. We said we were going up to Huddersfield to get a result. We have got to believe that.

“It seemed that as the game went on, we lacked that belief.”

Gary Roberts broke the deadlock after Orient had held out against a barrage of attacks down the flanks during the first half.

Williams reflected: “Goals do change games, that goal changed people's psyche. I wasn’t sure after that that we believed we would come back and get two goals.

“If it had been 0-0 (at half time) you do believe you can go on and win the game.”

Williams revealed how his long list of missing players had lengthened that morning.

He said: “Both Charlie Daniels and Stephen Purches woke up in the morning with viruses. Purches felt so ill, he could not even be considered for the bench, and Charlie wasn’t much better.

“So I thought that for him (Daniels) to put an hour in on Saturday and give it a go was magnificent. He was in there (the changing room) afterwards, absolutely shattered.”

It was a day to forget for the 208 fans who made the trip from east London to west Yorkshire.

Jimmy Smith was the only player who managed a shot on target for the Londoners, as the entire team looked under the weather in attack.

Andros Townsend again looked the man most likely to create something for Orient.

But the 18-year-old loanee had one of those days when the killer final pass evaded him.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield were dangerous at set-plays and lethal in the air.

Nathan Clarke, Michael Collins, and Jordan Rhodes all scored with second-half headers.

Williams said afterwards he was not worried by the lack of threat Orient displayed.

“Our last ball and the decision making in the final third wasn’t quite as good as it has been,” he said. “We took the wrong option at the final pass.”
