PAUL Jones, Orient's on-loan keeper helped Exeter City stretch Manchester United at St James' Park on Wednesday night in a nationally televised match.

Two weeks ago, the 18-year-old's dream of playing at Old Trafford came true when Exeter City first took on Manchester United, resulting in a surprising goalless shut-out.

The keeper impressed commentators Wednesday, successfully facing down several attempts by the Red Devils' Ronaldo and Rooney to score, giving up just two goals.

The Grecians fought hard but ultimately succumbed to Manchester United, with a goal each by Ronaldo and Rooney.

Jones, who has impressed under the guidance of former O's youth team manager Alex Inglethorpe at St James' Park, is hoping that his loan spell will help him make it back at Orient.

He added: "This has been a great opportunity for me to play in senior games, but while I have really enjoyed it at Exeter I only really want to make it at Orient because I love the club."

Despite Wednesday's defeat, the young keeper can take consolation for being named FA Cup Player of the Round for helping Exeter to a goalless draw in the first game at Old Trafford.
