A quick glance at Preston’s results this season makes for interesting reading.

The Lilywhites are currently enjoying their best start to a campaign since 1959 – finding themselves on an enviable hot-streak of seven straight league wins.

With results like that, it is no wonder that Phil Brown’s side presently sit second in the table with a game in hand on table-topping Charlton.

However, despite this impressive run, the cracks are there if you want to see them.

North End have only kept three clean sheets in the league so far and haven’t shut their opposition out for a month now.

Tuesday saw them recover from 3-2 down at Wycombe to record a 4-3 win, but this was not the first time Brown’s side have shipped three this season.

Earlier this month, Yeovil were also beaten 4-3 by the side from Lancashire, while on the opening day, Colchester ran out 4-2 winners at Deepdale.

Yes, they are on a good run. Yes they are capable of scoring goals. But they are also fragile at the back.

At face value, Orient’s haul of three points so far might leave neutrals having this fixture down as an easy away win.

But Preston were troubled by Wycombe’s lively winger, Kadeem Harris, and in George Porter, the O’s have a player who can do similar damage.

Couple the energy of Porter with the confidence boost of the trips to Blackburn and Huddersfield and you have an Orient team capable of hurting Saturday’s visitors.

That elusive first win might not be found but there will be goals and I can see Orient getting a 2-2 draw.
