Summer signing Leon McSweeney says the atmosphere on the training ground is fantastic as the O’s continue their fine run of form.

Saturday saw Orient claim their third win in a row, picking up ten points from a possible 12 as they continue to turn around their miserable opening to the campaign.

McSweeney has started all of the E10 side’s last four games and believes the team now have the momentum as they look to put their disappointing start behind them.

The 28-year-old said: “Three wins on the bounce makes the league table look a tad better. It puts us in the right direction.”

He continued: “We have got momentum now, which we didn’t have going into those games. We have got a good team.

“People say that the league table doesn’t lie and it certainly doesn’t – you can’t say that it does. But we have shown that we can match the best and we have matched them with three wins and a good draw up at Huddersfield when we were 2-0 down and dead and buried.

“We just need that self-belief. It is pouring into the squad – you can see that in training. The atmosphere in training is fantastic now. It was grim to say the least when we were on the losing streak but that is football.

“We just need now to carry it forward and don’t take the foot off the pedal. I think we have had every kick we need now and we just need to follow it through.”
