SWIMMER Bethany Faulkner glided to an impressive 14 county titles at the Essex Winter Junior-Senior Championship, to help London Borough of Redbridge Swimming Club to third overall - its highest position for eight years.

Faulkner was in amazing form winning seven senior and seven junior awards.

Bethany set best times in the 50m free (28.2 secs) and 100m butterfly (65 secs).

In the 400m free, 400m medley, 50m and 200m butterfly, she was less than a second away from her lifetime bests, achieving national qualifying times in the 400m medley and 100m and 200m butterfly.

Phoebe Hayes achieved second in the senior and junior 100m backstroke (66.3 secs) in a national qualifying time and was first for juniors and second for seniors in the 200m free, second overall in the 50m and 200m backstroke and third in the 50m free in a best time (28.64 secs).

Chris Inch finished second in the junior 400m medley with a national qualifying time and seven-second personal best (4mins 51secs).

He just missed out on the 400m free national qualifying time by 0.07 secs, placed sixth overall in the 200m fly.

Chris Worby finished third in the 50m breaststroke and fourth in the 200m medley, achieving a total of three personal bests at the event.

Charlotte Owen made two finals and achieved two best times, while Craig Moate swam another excellent 400m free in a best of 4mins 28secs, only four seconds away from the S14 World Record.

Also achieving personal bests were Andrew Owen, Alice Scott, Ellen Scott, Laura Francis and Sophie Cooper.

Emma Francis swam a good 50m fly and competed in the 200m free, while Ivan Georgiev competed in the 50m free and 50m fly in his first major competition.

The relays were also exceptional. In the girls 11 and 12 age group, Sophie Copper, Anna Keble, Lucy Warner and Emily Cole achieved silver medals in the free and medley relays - missing out on gold by less than half a second.

In the boys section, Charlie Dentith, Adam Gillard, Zac Ross and Tom Beadle achieved the silver medal in the medley team.

Ben Jobson replaced Zac in the freestyle team who took fourth.

In the nine and ten year age group, Samuel Kelly, Kenneth Man, Stephen Truong and Lawrence Brown swam to fourth place in the medley team and just missed out on a final in the free.
