EPPING were left without a game for a second week in a row after their fixture at Mountnessing was rained off.

But goalkeeper Jon Thomas, midfielder Danny Hopkins and forward Ashley Conlan were due to be in action last night (Wednesday) after being picked in the Essex Olympian League representative side to play the Kent County League at Billericay Town.

Manager Neil Whitbread said: "Jon has been recognised as one of the best keepers in the league for some time.

"Danny has the ability to play at a higher level, although hopefully we can hang on to him for a while longer, and it's Ashley's first selection which shows how well he's been doing.

"It's good recognition for them and the club. We know we have good players, and this reflects that."

Epping are hoping their game at Tilbury in the Essex Premier Cup Round Three goes ahead on Saturday.
