SOUTH Loughton Cricket Club's first XI captain Terry Henman collected the Ten-17 FM Herts and Essex League championship trophy.

He was presented with the cup by former Essex and England legend Graham Gooch at the League's annual presentation dinner last weekend.

Star all-rounder Lee Baker picked up awards for the highest score and the best bowling analysis in Division One during the 2007 season and Nick Tredgold was voted the best young player in the league's top division for his haul of 17 wickets.

To complete a successful evening for the club, second XI player Morne Modler won the Division Three award for the best bowling analysis.

The Roding Road-based club have already startedpreparing to defend their title, with four adult and three junior teams playing indoor cricket during the winter.

South Loughton, which holds ECB Focus Club' status will be fielding five adult teams each weekend in 2008.
