Clapton Community’s mens’ team navigated a tricky trip to Hilltop FC to bring a credible point home in a 2-2 draw.
The Tons took an early lead through Noah Adejokun, but Hilltop levelled shortly after through Jordy Mumbiny’s emphatic effort.
Clapton then went and restored their lead in the second half when Price Kwakye’s netted, but Hilltop were allowed to walk in an equaliser unopposed after play didn't stop in the build-up when one of their players was down injured.
Despite late pressure from the visitors, it proceeded to finish all square.
Meanwhile, Clapton’s womens’ side exited the Women's FA Cup at the preliminary round stage with a 3-2 loss to Oakwood Ladies.
The Tons scoredt early on when Capucine Riom slotted home, but a quickfire double put Oakwood back in the driving seat after just 12 minutes.
Ana Holmes pulled Clapton level with an angled lob, but Oakwood again hit back to make it 3-2 on 40 minutes.
The second half momentum was all with Clapton and they had a goal ruled out for offside, but were eventually made to settle for defeat.
