ORION Athletics Club sent a number of juniors to the second Essex Cross Country League fixture at One tree Hill.

There was a superb fifth placed finish for Armani Antoine-Chaga in the U13 girls' event and steady finishes from Leah Honeychurch (21st) and Alice Buckmaster (22nd).

In the U13 boys' race, Ben Silverstone finished in 12th place, followed home by Geogre Moy (13th) and Bix Hall (27th).

Laurne MacGregor (fifth) and Jay Andrews (eighth) impressed in the U15 girls' event, ably supported by Laura O'Connor (18th).

Auberon Hall continued his consistent form in the U15 boys', coming home in 21st place, while Alex Gordon also ran well (26th).

Rebecca Kipps continued to improve with a 21st place finish in the U17 girls' race.

Gavin Lewis showed more of his excellent form of late to come home in third position in the U17 boys' event, followed by Ben Hayes (15th), Frankie Conway (16th) and Daniel Penfold (20th).

Meanwhile the Orion Harriers junior team visited Alexander Palace to take part in the second Chingford League meeting of the winter season.

Up against many top local clubs, Orion were defending the boys and girls cross-country titles that they won last season on a testing courses.

Leading the way for the Chingford club were the U17 boys' team of Gavin Lewis (first), Frankie Conway (second), Ben Hayes (fourth), Daniel Panfold (seventh) and Matthew Moay (eighth), who dominated the final places of this particular race.

There were also excellent first and second place finishes for U15 girls Lauren McGregor and Jay Andrews, supported by Laura O'connor who came home in sixth.

In the U13 girls' run, Armani Antione-Chagar ran strongly for second place and Leah Honeychurch (8th) and Nikkita Satori-Sigrist (13th) earned Chingford further useful points.

Rebecca Kipps made good progress to record a fifth place finish for the U17 girls.

In the U13 boys' run, Paul Inkpen had a respectable run to finish ninth, just ahead of Rohan Mahon in 12th place, Bix Hall in 15th, Harry Sach in 17th and Ben Gordon in 20th.

Orion also produced good performances in the U15 boys' race as Auberon Hall came home in fourth place, accompanied by Alex Gordon (sixth), Ellis Ball (tenth) and Tommy Black (14th).
