A GOLF-mad youngster who has already amassed a wealth of silverware has won another trophy.

Daisy Dyer, 16, has played the sport for just five years, but her success over recent months has seen her win numerous trophies in regional competitions and even train with the England team.

Her latest tournament success came in the shape of the Logan Trophy, which she won at Upminster Golf Club by beating Chelmsford's Siobhan Pamenter two and one.

The talented teen is a member of Chigwell Golf Club where she spends hours honing her technique.

Last month, it awarded her a special accolade in the form of the Frankie Hitchcock Salver, in recognition of the trail she has blazed in Ladies Golf.

Father, Alan said: "I think it is fully deserved. She has the talent, but has worked hard and really progressed. I am proud to see how far she has come in only five years."

The Frankie Hitchcock salver was established to recognise junior players' efforts, and Dyer appears a worthy incumbent. This year she was also crowned Essex Girls' champion, which secured her a place in the county's second team, and she is also in the junior side.

Dyer also reached the semi-final of Flight Two in the English Girls' championship. Additionally, her efforts for Chigwell Golf Club helped the team reach final in a shield competition.

Louella Hitchcock, a Junior County organiser said: "Daisy has had a phenomenal year.

"She has achieved so much in just 12 months, and she still has lots of potential."
