Eton Manor 27
Bury St Edmunds 5
(London Two North)
MANOR secured a win at the New Wilderness that moved them up to fourth in the table.
A break from a scrum 40 metres from the Bury line on 19 minutes ended with Reece Reed dodging a string of tackles to score the opening try.
On the stroke of half time the visitors replied when they kicked a penalty to the corner and rumbled over to square it up at 5-5 at the break.
Manor however dominated the second 40 minutes and shortly after the restart half time replacement Richie Moller scored from a ruck close to the posts.
Fly-half Greg Anderson converted and the Manor were on their way to a comfortable win.
It did however take them a further 20 minutes before they scored again, although it was worth waiting for.
A missed kick to touch was fielded by full back Tony Spurgeon. He made ground and once the ball was recycled centre Mark Cuschieri broke up the right-hand side. His delightfully timed offload to winger James Willcocks saw him score an excellent team try that was converted by Anderson, who soon added a penalty to make it 22-5.
Then in the closing stages Ian Edwards galloped over for the final score.
Manor coach Ged White said: "We played quite intelligently at times.
"The mixture of youth and experience we have in the squad is starting to blend together.
"I honestly believe that there is a lot more to come from this group of players."
