SPURS boss Juande Ramos woul;d clearly love to be shot of striker Dimitar Berbatov by the close of the transfer window tonight.

The Bulgarian striker was once again left out of Tottenham's squad for yesterday’s 1-1 draw at Chelsea.

And Spanish coach Ramos has it seems given up all hope of keeping Berbatov at White Hart Lane and it seems the sooner he joins Manchester United the better.

He said: “I don’t know where Berbatov is and he’s not in the right state of mind to play.

“Once the transfer window closes we will have more options with Roman Pavlyuchenko and any others who may arrive at the last minute.

“Darren Bent has had to work very hard up front on his own.

“Pavlyuchenko will bring a lot of quality to the side and he is well known for his attributes.

“We hope that he will settle in quickly because he has come from another country.

“It’s really important for him to adapt so that we can see him play very well for us.”
