SPURS chances of replacing want-away striker Dimitar Berbatov with Ajax's prolific frontman Klaas Jan Huntelaar appear slim.

Media reports have claimed over the last few weeks that if sulking Bulgarian Berbatov leaves for Manchester United, that Tottenham boss Juande Ramos would make Dutch international Huntelaar his number one target.

But any chance of pushing through a late deal before the transfer window closes tonight, appear unlikely after Ajax stated they have no plans to sell the striker.

”There is no possibility of us selling such an important player on the final day of the transfer window,” Ajax technical director Danny Blind told De Telegraaf.
