MEDIA reports claim Manchester City could be set to snatch Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov from under the noses of fierce rivals Manchester United.
Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been linked with the sulking Bulgarian all summer, but according to Sky Sports News, City have launched an audacious £30million bid.
United are believe to have had a £25million bid turned down for Berbatov, and were appearing reluctant to up their offer to Tottenham's £30million valuation.
But United legend and City boss Mark Hughes could now beat his old manager to the punch, in what would be a dramatic turn of events in the lead up to the transfer window closing tonight.
It is thought, however that Berbatov may dig his heels in as he would still prefer to go to Old Trafford, but having appeared to burn his bridges with Juande Ramos at White Hart Lane, he may have little say in the matter now.
