TOTTENHAM pulled out of signing Diego Milito because of the striker's high wage demands.
The north Londoners were keen to add two strikers to the squad as replacements for Dimitar Berbatov.
Lilywhites chairman Daniel Levy was keen to snap up Real Zaragoza hitman Milito, and is thought to have been confident about completing a £9million deal.
But reports are suggesting he refused to break the club's pay structure to land the 29-year-old.
Skipper Ledley King is the club's top earner on £60,000 a week - £5,000 a week less than what Milito is reported to have wanted.
