SPURS manager Juande Ramos is already being linked with a January swoop for Valencia striker Fernando Morientes.

With the transfer window only having just shut media reports claim that Ramos believes the former Spanish international striker could be the short-term answer to fill the void left by Dimitar Berbatov's departure to Manchester United.

The Tottenham boss is thought to have lost out on several targets before the transfer window slammed shut last Monday, but according to the Daily Star, Ramos is happy to wait to bring the former Real Madrid and Liverpool striker to White Hart Lane.

And the 33-year-old, who is likely to find himself on the bench this season for Valencia and could be tempted to have another shot at the Premier League.
