ATHLETICS
TWO young local triathletes were selected to represent their regions at the National Triathlon Inter-regional championships in Aldershot - and both performed exceptionally well to make top ten finishes.
The highest standard competition sees top triathletes from each region of the country compete against each other in three different age groups, which involves a continuous race of swimming, cycling then running.
Armani Antoine-Chagar represented London region in the 13-14 girls and finished ninth, while Becky Hewitt represented the Eastern region in the 15-16 girls and finished tenth.
The pair are both trained by Swim for Tri and Walthamstow Tritons.
They are also coached by Orion Harriers, Woodford Green Athletic Club with Essex Ladies and Team economic Energy for cycling.
The competition represented the end of a very successful year for both girls, who have also been selected to join their Regional Talent Squad to help develop their skills over the coming year.
