ARSENAL made a late bid to try and sign Rennes midfielder Stephane M'Bia before the Premier League transfer window shut last Monday.
The 22-year-old Cameroon international was heavily linked with a move to England this summer and has confirmed that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger made a late swoop for him.
He told Sky Sports: "Listen, I am a Rennes player, the market will open in January and I will concentrate on doing a good job for Rennes [until] then.
"Everyone knows there are clubs that are after me, that is not new. Arsenal made contact in the last hours of the market, but the club did not want to let me go."
And while he may sign a new contract with the French outfit, M'Bia hasn't ruled out coming to England one day.
He continued: "Rennes is looking to improve my pay. I have already decided to stay here against my wish, but everyone knows I want to move to the Premier League."
