GRANT Flower is to begin his ECB Level Four coaching qualification course in October.
The Zimbabwe all-rounder, 37, is planning to pursue a career in coaching after his playing days are over.
Flower was handed a new one-year deal after helping Essex to victory in the Friends Provident Trophy and NatWest Pro40.
