UPSHIRE boxer Phil Gill will share the same ring as British heavyweight champion Danny Williams after winning his fourth consecutive professional fight last week.

Gill, dubbed ‘The Experience’, defeated Kristian Laight on points at the Troxy in London, which takes his record among the paid ranks to four wins from four fights.

His reward for the victory is likely to be a bout against Baz Carey, who has come up against British boxing sensation Amir Khan.

The fight will take place at the Watford Colosseum on November 29, where Williams tops the bill.

The event is sure to attract plenty of attention as Gill is starting to make a name for himself on the circuit, while Williams, nicknamed the ‘Brixton Bomber’, shot to fame when he knocked out boxing legend Mike Tyson back in 2004.

Gill was forced to dig deep to overcome Laight after suffering a cut above his eye when the pair clashed during the opening 30 seconds of the bout.

However, Gill went on to win every subsequent round and was awarded the victory on points.

He insists the wound has healed already and he will be fighting fit for the clash later this month.

“I’m looking forward to boxing at the Watford Colosseum,” said Gill. “The atmosphere there is going to be electric and there is a real buzz about the show.”

Tickets for the show are available from Phil Gill on 07843 636920.
