The short mat bowls section of the Woodford Wells Club recently held their Annual Open Triples competition. Sixteen teams took part and it was eventually a team from Wells, MONKS, that finished on top of the pile at the end of the competition.
Buckhurst Hill Bowls Club had all their nine rinks full as over 70 members turned up for the first day of the new season.
President Malcolm Lord, ladies captain Jadwiga Twardowska and men’s captain Roy Davies were on hand to welcome members to the start of the club’s centenary year.
On Saturday the club has its open day, when members of the public are invited to come along and try their hand at bowls and/or tennis at no cost between 10.30am and 5pm. All ages welcome.
