Tottenham are showing an interest in Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera, according to Spanish reports.
The 23-year-old was one of the hottest prospects in Europe last year and was part of the young Spanish side that dispatched Manchester United out of the Europa League.
Herrera's progress however has been stunted by a niggling groin injury which looks likely to keep him out for up to two months.
According to Spanish publication AS, both Spurs and Liverpool made bids in the region of €15 million to €20 million in the summer but were rebuffed by the midfielder's desire to remain in Spain.
Herrera reportedly has a buy out clause of €36 million inserted in his contract.
