West Ham United will have to decide whether to offer Carlton Cole a contract after he featured in their 4-2 friendly defeat to Charlton Athletic this afternoon.

The striker left the Hammers in the summer but played in the behind closed doors match this afternoon as he looks to return to Upton Park.

West Ham took the lead through Mladen Petric but the opponents scored three times to take control.

George Moncur pulled one back but Charlton added a fourth goal to seal the friendly win.
