MEDIA reports this morning claim former West Ham defender Slaven Bilic is set to quit his post with Croatia to take over at Upton Park.

The News of the World reveal that Alan Curbishley earned himself a reprieve with yesterday's 4-1 thrashing of Blackburn, but they claim the Hammers board would still rather have Billic in charge.

The reports seem a little harsh on Curbishley, with the east Londoners making their best start in the Premier League in nine years now after securing their second victory of the campaign.

But the tabloid press it seems still believe that former Charlton boss Curbishley, who was the favourite at the start of the season to become the first Premier League manager to be sacked, could still be on his way.

And according to the News of the World, 39-year-old Billic would be prepared to leave Croatia as quickly as after their World Cup 2012 qualifying clash with England in ten days time.

The paper also state that despite Curbishley delivering results on the pitch, the clash with the board about the sale of Anton Ferdinand to Sunderland, has created a division that might not be mended.
