WEST HAM striker Carlton Cole has targeted a haul of ten Premier League goals before Christmas.

The 26-year-old forward has already bagged six in the league, but he is refusing to take his foot off the pedal and is determined to add at least another four strikes to his tally.

Cole was named Player of the Month for October by West Ham's fans after netting three times in four games, including strikes against Arsenal, Sunderland and Fulham.

He has been laid low with a hamstring injury, suffered against Aston Villa last week, but with the international break allowing him plenty of time to make a full recovery ahead of the trip to Hull City on November 21, Cole is now keen to pick up where he left off.

“I am always trying to improve my game,” he told WHUFC.com. “I look at videos and see where I should be and where I should have been at the time. I'm trying to increase my threat in front of goal by getting in the right places at the right times.

“There's a lot of improvement in my game to be done, but I'm getting there.

“I'm trying to play well and stay up there with the top scorers in the Premier League. A ll I can do is keep tucking them away and hopefully I can progress and get to ten before Christmas, because that is my target.”
